Don’t Let Fear Shut Honest Kitchens: Zeromiles Handwara Owner Speaks Out Amid Kashmir Food Scare

Zero Miles Handwara - The Restaurant

Handwara, August 2025 — In light of recent controversies shaking the food industry in Kashmir, Aadil Hussain Mir, a young entrepreneur and owner of Zeromiles Handwara, has called for balanced action rather than sweeping judgments against all restaurants.

According to Mir, the livelihood of countless workers and small business owners is at stake when the entire industry is held accountable for the mistakes of a few.

“One or few wrongdoers should not define an entire sector. We pour our hearts, time, and resources into keeping food quality high — because our purpose is to serve, not to shut down,” he said.

Mir also advised the public to be mindful when encountering unusually cheap food deals:

“It’s basic economics — sustainable quality can’t come at impossibly low prices. If something feels too good to be true, it probably is.”

He encouraged citizens to address complaints through proper legal channels so the local authorities can take corrective measures. At the same time, he appealed to the Food & Safety Department to ensure regular checks and strict adherence to hygiene laws, without letting the actions of a few “criminal-minded individuals” ruin the reputation of genuine entrepreneurs.

“Let’s fix problems without breaking what’s working. Young business owners like us are trying to build something positive for our community — we need support, not blanket blame,” Mir concluded.
